A tribute to worlds that no longer exists
A Tribute to My Lost Childhood MCPE Maps (2016–2017)
As a Minecraft Pocket Edition player and creator, few things are as painful as losing world saves you spent hours building. Nearly 10 years ago, I created custom MCPE maps and adventures that meant the world to me.
Unfortunately, despite scanning old devices, asking community members, and searching through site archives, most of the actual world download files have been lost to time.
Today, I wanted to share a nostalgic tribute to these childhood projects. While the files are gone, these surviving screenshots and short video clips are the last remaining pieces of those worlds.
1. Zombie Island
Zombie Island was one of my earliest custom survival/adventure map concepts built on MCPE. The goal was simple: survive waves of hostile mobs on an isolated terrain, uncover hidden equipment, and complete hidden objectives.
2. One Block Challenge
Long before single-block survival maps became a massive trend across modern Minecraft servers, I experimented with micro-survival mechanics in early Bedrock edition. This map tested player resourcefulness by forcing survival starting on extremely limited land.
3. Dimensional Disaster
(Image file lost)
Although no screenshots survived for Dimensional Disaster, this project was an experimental adventure map centered around dimensional travel, custom mechanics, and story-driven objectives.
4. Overworld End Cities: A Megalopolis Adventure
This was easily one of my most ambitious projects: constructing sprawling Purpur structures and End City architecture directly inside the Overworld landscape. It featured massive builds, complex verticality, and custom player challenges embedded into the terrain.
Video Showcase & Memories
I put together a short video showcase capturing clips and visuals of these lost projects:
While I may never recover the original
.mcworld or .zip files for these creations, sharing them here keeps the memory of those early MCPE building years alive. Did any of you play old Pocket Edition custom maps back in 2016–2017? Let me know in the comments!
